If you just lost everything you own and laid out to dry on the side walk, and this guy comes along and offers you a place to stay.

Would you take it or take your chances out on the street instead?

In my teen years we lost everything, couldn't afford to exist, they took the house and kicked us out. We were fortunate enough that we managed to afford to live in a small motel room for a while. Four of us crammed into a tiny motel room. It was hard, but we made do. We moved to an "extended stay suites" place so we at least had a motel room that had a bedroom attached until we could get some money together and rent a house. Scary times. I'm glad we didn't end up on the street, and as an insulin dependent diabetic those times were tough, I was down at my endocrinologist a lot asking for help to get sample vials or stabilizing injections just to stay alive, but things absolutely could have been worse. On the streets I would have been dead quickly.

To be honest, here it's quite affordable to rent a place to live, maybe you won't get a particular zone you want, but you can get nice stuff for around $100-$120 per month. What's the catch over here? you spend a lot of time on traffic and the weather is horribly hot and humid.
