What is a job that you worked that you absolutely hated?

How long did you keep that job before you walked away from it?

I loved working at Walmart when I first started, but gradually over the years, I began to hate it. There were always too many people in the store, you had to deal with idiots sometimes, and the workload was never-ending where you barely had time to breathe. Thanksgiving and Christmas were exhausting and endless freight piled up in the backroom. That's around the time I quit, it was part of my breaking point. I was with the company for about 10 years.

I'd probably say the one I quit before looking after my mother. The money was amazing, but the job was soulless and every day just felt grim and pointless. Yeah, I was a full time programmer making full time programmer money, but damn it had its' drawbacks. It sounds nice, right? What do you do for a living? Oh I'm a programmer, I make loan origination software for banks. But the reality is just...yuck. Going back into the field I hope to find a more engaging company to work with, or a more meaningful way to spend my time.
