Is forgetting once you forgive a sane decision?

A lot of people preach that it is very okay to forget once you've forgiven someone, as that makes it a better feeling being free from holding grudges against the person. Is this a decision you consider, sane, or is it silly?

Holding grudges isn't worth it. Move past it and get on with life. No matter what happened, if you're able to patch things up with the person, it's for the best to do so and move beyond it.

I may forgive, but I don't forget what they did. If their offense wasn't severe, I am able to move past it.
