How do you find the right person?

The person I'm in a long distance relationship with now I've known for over a decade and has known me through a lot of ups and downs...we never counted on entering into anything, it just kind of happened and now it feels like it might be something really special. Going to give it a real shot when the time is right, so...I suppose the answer is you never truly know until you feel it?
It is all a stroke of luck. It’s not everyone that finds their person, and there is no exact formula for it. Thinking about it is just a big set up for disappointment.
